It's been a year, so I decided to see if the forumbots had forgotten about this site. I've renabled user registrations, although each new registration has to be approved by me. We'll see how this works. If I don't get too many spam registrations I'll keep it in effect. Otherwise, I'll have to go back to manual registrations.

Incidentally, if your email address is from an Eastern European or Russian domain, don't even bother registering. Every such registration request I've approved has turned out to be a forum spammer, so I simply ignore such requests now.

A formbot (or forumbot) is an automated tool that messageboard spammers use to register on forums like this and then automatically generate messageboard spam.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

We've been trying (and failing) for decades to create artificial intelligence...but we've got artificial stupidity NAILED.
